How to use Spacial

A first session in Spacial, start to finish.

1. Pick a scene

Click Spaces in the dock at the bottom of the screen. Browse by style (Anime, Study With Me, Office or Nature) or search for something like "rain" or "city". Click one to switch.

Use the Scene sound slider at the bottom of the Spaces panel, or the speaker in the top bar, to set the volume. Read more in Choosing a scene.

2. Say what you're focusing on

On the home screen, Spacial asks What would you like to focus on? Click the line and type something short, like "Chapter 4 notes" or "Essay intro". It's optional, but it makes starting easier.

Labels you've used recently appear underneath. Click one to reuse it.

3. Start a focus round

Press Start 25 min. When the round ends, a chime plays and a 5-minute break starts.

While the timer runs you can Pause, Take a break early, or End session. See Using the Pomodoro timer for custom lengths and how rounds work.

4. Keep a short list

Open Tasks from the dock and add what you want to get done today. Click a task to tick it off. For loose thoughts that aren't tasks, open Notes and jot them on the sticky pad. More in Tasks and notes.

5. Wrap up

When you're done for now, choose End session. Spacial shows how long you focused and how many rounds you finished.

Tips for your first week

  • Start small: One or two rounds is a good first session. Consistency matters more than length.
  • Keep the list short: Three tasks you'll finish beat ten you won't.
  • Sign in to keep your tasks and notes: with Google or an email link.
