Spacial is an indie productivity project run by a small team. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

By using Spacial, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile data from your provider (such as name, email address, and avatar).

App data: Notes, tasks, favorite scenes, and related supporter or billing flags used to run core app functionality.

Billing data: If you purchase supporter access, Stripe handles payment details. We store billing metadata needed for entitlement state (for example customer and subscription identifiers/status).

Usage analytics: We collect anonymised event data (such as which features you use) via PostHog to understand how the app is used and where to improve it. This does not include the content of your notes or tasks.

Local device data: Some preferences are saved in your browser using local storage.

2. How We Use Data

  • Operate and maintain Spacial features (spaces, timer, tasks, notes, and account state).
  • Authenticate users and secure access.
  • Process subscriptions and supporter access controls.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and user experience via anonymised analytics.

3. Storage and Retention

We use MongoDB to store user and app data needed to provide the service. We retain data only for as long as needed to operate Spacial, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Google (authentication)
  • Stripe (payments and subscriptions)
  • PostHog (product analytics — anonymised usage events only)
  • Embedded media providers (for scene/media content)

5. Scene Content Notice and Takedowns

Some spaces may use embedded third-party scene videos (including YouTube-hosted content). Rights remain with the original creators and owners. If you are a rights holder and want a scene removed, email us at hello@spacial.work with the relevant link details and we will review and take action promptly.

6. Your Choices

You can stop using the service at any time. For data questions or deletion requests, contact us through our Discord community.

7. Updates To This Policy

We may update this policy as the project evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
